Paula López Rúa
Paula López Rúa is a Senior lecturer in English and ELT at the Faculty of Education in the Lugo Campus (University of Santiago de Compostela). She has held teaching posts at several Spanish universities (Vigo, A Coruña and the Balearic Islands) since 1997. She obtained a Ph.D in 2000 with a dissertation on the applications of prototype theory to the description of minor word-formation devices. She is the author of Birds, Colours and Prepositions: The Theory of Categorization and its Applications in Linguistics (Lincom Europa, 2003), and co-author of a dictionary of terms for foreign language teaching and learning (Diccionario de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje de Lenguas, Madrid: CLÉ International, 2007). Her other publications include articles on English morphology, lexicology and sociolinguistics. She has also participated in various research projects on interlanguage and foreign language learning conducted at the University of Santiago de Compostela and funded by the Galician Ministry of Education. Her research interests comprise a wide range of topics, particularly English morphology, cognitive linguistics, translation studies and teaching English as a foreign language.
